NX Direct’s own Robert Baffi is a lot of things. He’s a born-and-raised New Yorker, a father, a leader, and an Account Executive on our team. At twenty-five, Baffi has been a leader on our team since September of 2019 and has continued to crush every obstacle in his path since that day.
For someone who never saw themselves excelling as a businessman, Robert Baffi is one impressive guy. “I wanted to own my own computer company,” says Baffi, “once I went to college, I started studying business and that helped expand my mind to realize how many different paths to entrepreneurship exist.” All of that said, Robert Baffi’s technological mind has not gone to waste at NX Direct. “I value the tech knowledge that I bring into this career,” says Baffi, “that plus my ‘down for whatever’ attitude make me the perfect guy for the job.”
Competitive by nature, Robert Baffi spent most of his childhood years on the field. “I played all different kinds of sports growing up and learned what it means to work on a team,” says Baffi. That competitive nature manifested itself into a steadfast drive, and Baffi is not easily deterred. “It can be tough dealing with stubborn people, but that’s true in any career,” says Baffi, “but I am very passionate about improving lives through technology, so I keep my eye on the prize and push forward.”
Each and every business around the world has had to deal with the effects of a global pandemic, and most of us are sick of even hearing the word ‘covid.’ Here at NX Direct, we looked that adversity in the face and refused to give up. “It’s been tough on our business to work around isolation,” says Baffi, “it’s much more difficult now to interact with customers face-to-face. That said, my silver lining is the decreased competition. Many people were forced to give up, pivot careers, and move on. I love this business because it’s merit-based and the harder you work, the more successful you become.”
What pushes Robert Baffi? For this leader, it’s all about family. “My fiancé and my daughter are my biggest motivators,” says Baffi, “I do this all for them and when it gets tough, I remind myself of some golden advice I once received. ‘You can’t have a million-dollar dream with a minimum wage work ethic.’” When it comes to the success of Robert Baffi, it begins and ends with family. He considers his father to be his greatest inspiration, and his daughter to be his greatest accomplishment.
