Musician and Family Man – All About Ahnajia Wright

Roughly eight months ago, we welcomed Ahnajia Wright to our team. As a Sales Trainer and Account Manager, he produces for our client, leads a team, and helps push NX Direct closer to our 2022 goals. To show our gratitude for all that he’s accomplished, we’re sharing his story and shining a spotlight on his winning attitude.

At twenty-five years old, Ahnajia is happily married and a father to a beautiful five-year-old little girl. He’s achieved something so soon in his life that he’s been working towards since childhood. While growing up in Indianapolis, Indiana, he only dreamt of doing two things – playing music and providing for his family. Looking to continue dreaming big, he joined our business and is working to excel in our industry long-term. To honor this commitment, we thought it fitting for you to hear directly from this excellent leader and budding entrepreneur.

To start this Q&A session, how did your professional journey start?

My first job was as a Scare Actor for Six Flags acting as a zombie. That led me to Walmart and a few sales positions. The previous sales positions I had put me in place to be receptive and willing to learn for this wonderful new opportunity.

What made you want to work with us here at NX Direct?

The ability to make as much money as I wanted.

Now that you’ve been with us for a few months, what’s our best work perk?

The culture. Simply, we have fun.

Let’s chat about your goals! Do you have short and long-term goals planned out?

I’m not the greatest planner. That’s something I’m working on. My short-term goals are to make management decisions daily and get promoted to Assistant Management then Management. And my long-term goal is to make enough money to provide for my family and keep singing for fun.

What’s been your greatest accomplishment to date?

Getting promoted to leadership so that I could consistently take care of my family. And with the money I’ve earned at this job, I was able to pay for my own studio to follow my dreams.

Not only does your family always come first, but you’re chasing your passion for music. We love that!!

Would you recommend our business and industry to entry-level individuals?

Of course, this is an absolutely amazing job.

What advice do you have for them as they kick start their careers?

If you say you’re going to do something, do it because you said you were, and make every second in life count. There are not many places that allow you to grow, learn life values, and give the ability to make insane money as an entry-level with no college degree. Be appreciative of the time people invest in you.

“I learned life comes with problems, and problems will always be there, but they become a lot easier to deal with when you have money in your pocket and a supportive team.”

Talk with us about your skills and what you bring to the table. What would you say is your greatest attribute?

I am a social butterfly. I enjoy making others smile.

As a leader, your attitude affects those around you. We’re thrilled that you take pride in bringing joy to your people!

Speaking of your team, what values are important to you in a teammate?

Commitment to the industry, commitment to self-growth, and being a hard worker are some important values to me.

How would you describe your leadership style?

I like to have fun and be an example. Every day when I’m at work, I try to show my team the great financial and growth opportunities that come with our job.

Ahnajia, we know that you actively look for ways to improve, are always eager to receive constructive criticism, and be a role model to those around you. You are an inspiration to many, but who inspires you?

My leader Mitchell Babb is a great example of what you need to be to earn the opportunity, and my daughter is a reminder of why I want the opportunity.

“What you believe is your reality. To change your reality, you have to change your belief.”

Last question! What advice do you have for someone looking to overcome challenges?

Take it one day at a time. The biggest obstacle is handling life one day at a time; simplicity is mastery. When problems are in your life, it’s because nine times out of ten, there are multiple things going on at once, which makes you feel overwhelmed. It seems like you have this big problem, but if you handle everything one at a time, that big problem will become smaller and smaller.

Such wonderful advice, Ahnajia! Thank you for giving us such insight into your mindset and upcoming goals. With your attitude and dedication to your why, we know that the second half of this year will be chock-full of growth and accomplishments. You are doing an amazing job and never forget that all of us at NX Direct are better off because of your leadership and friendship!!
