Kiyah Smith’s story is rooted in ambition, adaptability, and a strong belief in growth. Born in Atlanta and raised in Smyrna, Georgia, she grew up alongside her older sister, Chloe, who remains one of the most influential people in her life. Only fifteen months apart, the two grew up learning and navigating life side by side, a bond that helped shape Kiyah’s sense of loyalty, empathy, and connection.
From an early age, Kiyah thought she wanted to be a teacher. While that path eventually changed, her desire to guide and develop others never did. After high school, she enrolled at Georgia State University and balanced full-time school with full-time work. The pace was demanding, but it taught her discipline, structure, and time management, skills she still relies on today.
Before finding her way to NX Direct, Kiyah explored creative work in decorating and interior design. When breaking into that field proved difficult, she leaned into what she had always been good at: working with people. She became a waitress, where her energy and people skills stood out. It was there that she met someone working in wireless retail sales who encouraged her to consider the field. After years of hearing the same suggestion, she finally decided to take the leap.
That leap brought her to NX Direct.

Along the way, she’s also had standout performance moments that remind her how far she’s come. One of those came when she high-rolled in a competition, an achievement that earned her custom sneakers from our Founder and CEO, Nelson, and became a milestone she looks back on with pride.
Stepping into leadership meant more than strong personal performance. It meant being trusted to develop others, something she had never experienced in a job before. Today, she leads with positivity, accountability, and support.

Looking Ahead With Purpose and Perspective
Like any growth journey, hers hasn’t been without challenges. What she’s learned is not to let a bad day define her.

That mindset keeps her focused on long-term decisions, guided by two questions: “What would my leader do?” and “What would future me think?”
Family remains one of her biggest motivators. Having seen loved ones live paycheck to paycheck, she’s determined to build a different future. Her goals include moving out on her own, building financial stability, growing her interior design business, and one day buying her parents a house. At 22 years old and entering her senior year of college while working full-time, Kiyah already considers how far she’s come a major personal win.
Today, she’s known for her positivity, honesty, and ability to lift others up. She believes success comes from focusing on what you can control, improving a little every day, and trusting the process. For anyone considering their next step, her advice is simple: commit fully, stay consistent, and build a future your future self will thank you for!
