When interviewing candidates, there are a few essential qualities that our recruiting team looks for, three of which are a driven mindset, a student mentality, and an unrelenting desire to succeed. When meeting Eric this past November, we learned quickly that he possesses each of these ten-fold. At NX Direct, we constantly set and achieve high-reaching goals and are attracted to individuals who do the same. When learning that Eric has been passionate about becoming a professional boxer and world champion since he was a kid and is still actively pursuing this dream, we knew that he would fit in with the rest of our crew!
In the little more than two months that Eric has been with us, he’s made such an impact that we thought it was time to showcase his mindset and goals. At thirty years old, he’s spent time figuring out the exact path he wants to take professionally, and with his three-year-old daughter, Maylee Moon, as motivation, he’s never been more driven to excel.
A Marietta, GA native, Eric was born in Mobile, AL, and after high school, he chose to attend Alabama A&M University. However, after completing his freshman year, he decided to pursue boxing full time; this experience taught him to be responsible, prepared, and organized. When boxing events slowed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Eric accepted a position at Home Depot. However, he quickly realized that he wanted something “more professional with no seniority and a great work environment.” The next step of his journey led him to us, and for that, we are thankful!

As we mentioned, Eric is a father to an amazing little girl. Maylee is his world and a motivating factor behind his desire to succeed. With plans of being in the business world for a long time as a business owner, he also wants to show her that dreams do come true by earning not one but two world championship titles! One thing that we admire about Eric is that he takes his goals seriously and is willing to do what it takes to achieve them, from learning how to be an expert planner, to reading books on sales, to always giving his best.
When asked what business advice he would give someone hoping to kickstart their career, he said, “Have a set goal and target and move toward that. Never make any excuses.” He believes that a job at NX Direct is chock-full of opportunity and growth and is an excellent position for those looking to build their skills. He’s learned quickly that our business is designed to promote forward momentum, and he has committed himself entirely to our systems.

We’ve witnessed Eric’s work ethic and consistency firsthand and how they have helped him grow both personally and professionally. He’s stated that his greatest accomplishment so far has been earning over 3k in sales and commissions. To us, this is only a starting point. We are confident that his extroverted personality, determination never to let anything or anyone sway him from his goals, and inspiring nature will guide him to his goals and beyond in the years to come!
Eric, you’ve said that you are inspired by Floyd Mayweather, our Manager, Vinni, and our President, Nelson. These individuals have two things in common – a love of what they do and a need to be the best. You are on the same path as them, and we are excited to witness your growth and future successes. One day, you’re going to look back on this time in your life and relish in the fact that you’ve earned the life of your dreams thanks to your undeterred mindset. Even when the transmission in your car broke, you still found a way to get to work and to get the job done. We admire everything about you and know you are bound for greatness as an entrepreneur and boxer!
