Introducing Account Executive, Cody Jackson

There is nothing we enjoy more at NX Direct than shining a spotlight on our people. This month, we are excited to recognize and introduce our recently promoted Account Executive, Cody Jackson. A Henry County native, Cody has strong goals of growing within the business industry, relocating to Atlanta, and fully harnessing his entrepreneurial skills. It has been a joy to watch him grow over the past two months, and we are confident that 2022 is going to be a year of results for this level-headed twenty-five-year-old.

Comfortable in a group and solo, Cody says that he genuinely enjoys working with others and helping customers. Being team-focused has allowed him to see how much positive energy is exuded when you stay team-focused. For example, Cody’s first day at NX Direct was October 12, 2021. From then on, he has been surrounded by a group of individuals who are encouraging, knowledgeable, and eager to help him move up within the company. He has had direct experience with the power of teamwork; this is one of the many reasons we are eager to watch him flourish as a leader in the new year!

We could talk about Cody’s exemplary work ethic and mentality all day. However, we’re here to introduce you to this rockstar. We asked him a few questions regarding his dreams, career, and motivations as to help our readers fully understand who he is. Let’s get started!

How has your career been affected by the COVID-19 crisis? What are you looking forward to for the remainder of 2021?

I did have my own business before the pandemic, but with COVID, it was very difficult to adapt. So now, with my new job at NX, I just want to improve throughout the remainder of the year.

What is your favorite thing about NX Direct?

My favorite thing about the business so far is that everyone is there to help you. There are so many sources of information on how to get better. Everyone wants to see you succeed. The higher-ups are very transparent on how to move up in the system.

What drew you to NX Direct in the first place?

I wanted to do sales so that I could control how much money I made. It’s strictly based on my performance, so if I don’t do well, I am the only one to blame.

Are you a planner? What are your short-term and long-term goals?

I’m not much of a planner, but this job has definitely helped me with planning. My short-term goal is to get into a position where I can train people. And my long-term is to have my own office.

What business advice would you give to people hoping to start a career?

I would say find a job where you enjoy what you are doing and enjoy being around your coworkers.

Would you recommend this career style to young leaders?

I’d recommend sales if you are a competitive person. This kind of sales job can be done by anyone. You just have to put in the effort, and you will see good results.

Now that we’ve covered a bit about his professional mindset and goals, let’s dive deeper into who Cody is and what inspires him!

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment to date?

My greatest accomplishment would be owning my own business. It was going great before the pandemic, and I was very proud of what I was able to accomplish.

Personally, it would be completing a week-long mission trip in Guatemala. I felt like I helped a lot of people, and seeing all the smiles on the kids’ faces was awesome.

How do you measure your own performance and success?

I measure my own performance by what I am producing. The last thing I want to do is be a liability to the company.

What important lesson did someone close to you teach you?

One thing I learned from my dad was just to be honest with your sales. He was a used car salesman but never tried to do someone wrong and always tried to genuinely help people. And those same people he sold to would come back once they needed a new car. So I’d say he taught me you don’t have to be a stereotypical salesman to succeed in sales.

Who inspires you?

I’d say my Grandmother inspires me the most. She was a stay-at-home mom until my grandpa had an aneurysm and lost his short-term memory. So she became a real estate agent and provided for her four kids and husband, and actually did very well!

Do you understand the hype surrounding our Account Executive, Cody Jackson, now? He comes from a long line of hardworking, adaptable, and customer-focused individuals who thrived in the sales industry. They weren’t afraid of hard work, and neither is he! While his dreams have changed over the years, from a desire to be a professional athlete to being a business leader who runs his own show and helps others do the same, we are positive that his journey will be one of prosperity. Our NX Direct team feels privileged to be a part of Cody’s road ahead and is eager to see all he will achieve in the weeks, months, and years to come!
